East 8th Ave.

This renovation completely transformed the outdated 1983 apartment, which previously had popcorn ceilings and a small, enclosed kitchen. The goal was to create a contemporary, lived-in feel using a neutral palette and wood-forward Scandinavian design elements for layered warmth. Despite its age, charming features like a wood-burning fireplace, spacious layout, and ample storage were retained.

In a fast-paced world, the need for a comforting sanctuary is crucial. By using natural materials, warm neutral tones, high-gloss accents, matte black elements, and a streamlined design, the interior exudes sophistication and functionality, making it a perfect urban haven for relaxation.

  • The goal was to improve accessibility and openness between the Kitchen and Living areas.

In the approved layout, a new island expanded the kitchen workspace for the cooking couple. To compensate for lost storage space, a bulkhead was replaced with full-height upper cabinets, adding storage capacity and enhancing aesthetics.

The result is a compact, practical, and functional kitchen that feels spacious yet defined within the open-concept layout.
