The Arbor

Type: LIV Student Design Competition
Location: Vancouver
Date: 2023
Placement: 1st Place
Programs: CAD, Sketchup, Enscape, InDesign

This iteration of LIV Design Studio’s Student Design Challenge invited interior design students to conceptualize a multifunctional 188 sq. ft. patio space that fosters a connection to the environment and supports year-round wellness through functional and innovative design. The top three designs were then recreated in augmented reality (AR) and showcased at IDS Toronto 2024.

Judges evaluated the finalists and determined placements based on the following criteria: design concept, creativity, lighting, functionality, base building, materials/finishes, color scheme, and construction drawings. Additional emphasis was placed on the ability to support activities such as entertaining and individual work while accommodating other uses throughout the day.
